Project Manager (Engineering)

Bristol based with Hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in office, more may be required)
Salary: £33,950 to £46,587 per annum plus 12.5% employer pension, private medical insurance, very flexible employer.

Summary
A world-leading engineering company like the NCC needs a world-leading project management team to keep the cogs turning!
Sitting within our Industrial Innovation team, you’ll have end to end responsibility for a variety of small to medium sized Engineering projects, from involvement in bid management through to implementation.
You’ll work with external clients to establish business needs, translate those into requirements and potential solutions, then see those through delivery.
You’ll also get involved in account management and bid work which could be up to 15% of your role at some points.
Using established project management processes, you’ll will work a variety of internal multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that projects are delivered to time, cost and quality.
Who are the Industrial Innovation Team?
Our aim is to accelerate industrial transformation by driving the innovation and development of advanced materials and digital technologies, fostering collaboration across sectors, and delivering adoptable, sustainable solutions that strengthen the UK's manufacturing capability and global competitiveness.
Specifically, you'll focus on the following activities;
- Responsible for supporting the successful execution of projects through any or all the phases of a project lifecycle: initiation, requirements capture, planning, execution and closure.
- Maintain up to date project plans covering all live and pipeline projects.
- Produce regular project reporting and management information.
- Ensure all project management processes are followed including: effective risk identification and mitigation, change control, maintenance of documentation logs, updating project reporting and creation and management of project plans.
- Support weekly and monthly project review meetings to ensure all elements of project delivery are achieved.
- Ensure all members of the project team have clear visibility of project booking codes and are accurately reflecting all the hours worked on the project
- Ensure all projects adhere to NCC quality, health and safety processes and actively promote a positive H&S culture within the team.
- Ensure all project plans are correctly resourced so that capacity planning can be conducted.
So, what are we looking for in your application?
We will prioritise applications with background in fields such as Engineering, Manufacturing or Research & Development. Specific experience we will look for in your CV would include;
- Engineering mindset – We’ll look for a background in this domain, perhaps you have an Engineering degree then went into project management or you may be an experience project manager already delivering engineering projects.
- Proven Project Manager delivering Engineering projects
- Good 3rd party client management experience and stakeholder management skills.
- Planning experience using MS Project, RAID, budget management & reporting experience
- Involvement in account management or bid management work.
Desirable (please apply if you have the core things above, these are a bonus for us)
- Knowledge of composite technologies.
- Knowledge regarding uses of digital technologies in engineering practices
- General manufacturing background
- Experience working with small to medium sized organisations
