About The Role

Project Manager (Operations) 

The National Composites Centre

Bristol based with Hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in office, more may be required)

Duration: 12 Months - Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £45,225 – £56,623 per annum plus benefits package

Security Clearance: You may be required to go through government security clearance if successful securing this role.

Summary

A world-leading engineering company like the NCC needs a world-leading project management team to keep the cogs turning!

You’ll have the responsibility for executing a variety of small to medium sized business operations projects, focused on delivering transformational change.

You’ll support the delivery of projects to meet the expectations of internal stakeholders.

Using established project management processes, you’ll will work with operations and other NCC project delivery teams to ensure that projects are delivered to time, cost and quality.

Specifically you'll focus on the following activities;

  • Responsible for supporting the successful execution of projects through any or all the phases of a project lifecycle: initiation, requirements capture, planning, execution and closure.
  • Ensure all project management processes are followed including: effective risk identification and mitigation, change control, maintenance of documentation logs, updating project reporting and creation and management of project plans.
  • Support weekly and monthly project review meetings to ensure all elements of project delivery are achieved.
  • Ensure all members of the project team have clear visibility of project booking codes and are accurately reflecting all the hours worked on the project
  • Ensure all projects adhere to NCC quality, health and safety processes and actively promote a positive H&S culture within the team.
  • Maintain up to date project plans covering all live and pipeline projects.
  • Ensure all project plans are correctly resourced so that capacity planning can be conducted.

So, what are we looking for in your application?

We will prioritise applications with background in fields such as engineering, defence & related industries.  Specific experience we will look for in your CV would include;

  • Experience working as a project manager with experience running Operations focused projects.
  • Good 3rd party client management experience and stakeholder management skills.
  • Business Change or Transformation Project experience (ideally within an Operations team)
  • Planning experience using MS Project
  • RAID, Finance & reporting experience

In terms of personal qualities we look for the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, good organisation skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
