About The Role

The NCC are recruiting a full-time Stores Officer who will work primarily at our Emersons Green site and will also be required to support our Filton operation.

In a world-leading manufacturing research and development centre, it is vital that the right people manage things behind the scenes to ensure that the business is supported seamlessly. As Stores Officer at the National Composites Centre, you keep the cogs turning.

As part of a small, focussed team, you will be accountable for stock control, ordering, storing, and the movement of materials that the NCC consumes on a day-to-day basis and dealing with general stores related enquiries. Reporting to the Stores Manager, it's your role to manage the delivery of materials and to deliver a quality service to suit project demands, as well as keeping an eye on cost control and waste management. The role will include physical labour, the operation of forklift trucks and the use of computer systems to record stock transactions and the use of other computer applications. Any supervisory experience would be a bonus but not essential.

So, what are we looking for?

  • Essential for this role is a Forklift and driving licence as well as computer skills. Beyond that, you will have a positive work ethic, a can-do attitude and can thrive in a busy environment.
  • You will be confident in addressing problems involving uncertainty, possess the ability to manage expectations, and have a professional edge to all you do and the ability to work with computers at a competent level.

This role involves working 37 hours a week - Monday to Wednesday 7:30am – 3:45pm and 7:30am – 3:30pm Thursday and Friday (including a ¾ hour lunch break). However, we are always open to hearing how we can support flexible working in different ways.

We welcome applications from all relevant industries, but if you have experience in a stores, industrial or manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you.

We look forward to receiving your application.
