About The Role

As Engineering Business Support Officer your role will be to support the collection and analysis of information needed to drive operational effectiveness and efficiency within the engineering department at the NCC.

This role will require a keen focus on current trends and performance analysis within a complex and dynamic project environment. You will work with the project management community to review upcoming demands and with the engineering teams to support optimal allocation of resources and enable future resource planning. You will need to draw upon a number of data sources and conduct analysis in order to support in the creation conclusions and action plans.

Key to your success will be the ability to track key metrics and performance indicators. You will form a key interface between the engineering and project management teams to ensure there is a clear picture of future project demands to support impact analysis and scenario planning. 

Additionally, you will support in the planning, distribution and reporting of overhead budgets across the engineering organisation.

So what are we looking for?

  • Experience of operating in a similar project delivery focused organisation within manufacturing or research and development
  • Aptitude for analysis and drawing conclusions from several data sources, some numerical and some through 1-2-1 interactions
  • Ability to challenge and deal with ambiguity and multiple likely scenarios that all need to be considered and factored into a conclusion
  • Personable and articulate, as a critical link between departments, you’ll need to be able to understand conflicting demands and help in finding a resolution
  • Experience of using business systems, defining metrics and controls
  • Clear communicator at all levels within a business
