About The Role

£31,134 – £40,069 DOE & Benefits

The National Composites Centre (NCC) is a world-leading innovation centre for composites, bringing together the best minds and best technologies to solve the world’s most complex engineering challenges.

Composites enable our everyday lives – in aerospace, transport, energy, defence and construction. Companies work with us to access our state-of-the-art technology, and with our 450-strong workforce of expert engineers, to make their next-generation products lighter, stronger, smarter and more sustainable.

We have an exciting story to tell about the critical role of composites – in creating better products with less waste that last longer; in building UK supply chains to deliver productivity and growth for the UK; and in how the NCC innovates and creates ‘industrial impact’.

As the Impact Communications Lead, you will work with our engineers to create compelling narratives to demonstrate our impact for UK industry. You will need a natural flair for translating complex, technical briefings into engaging content including case studies, articles, blogs, social media and other digital content.

What are we looking for?

You will already be working in a communications role, either in-house or at an agency, with experience of PR and content creation, and you are looking for the next step in your communications career. You will have experience of working with multiple people across all levels to extract the right information and translating it into engaging, accessible narratives.

What will you be doing?

  • Interviewing and working with our engineers and technical experts to create compelling case studies and stories that demonstrate the NCC’s impact, highlighting how composites address urgent societal challenges.
  • Measuring engagement of your content in order to continually improve and maximise reach and impact.
  • Working with your Marketing and Communications team to deliver campaigns and promote innovations throughout the year – linking content and social media into integrated campaigns, which can be measured.
  • Develop impactful and visually appealing presentations, case studies, articles, web copy and social media content in line with the NCC brand, with an opportunity to take ownership of various projects.
  • Supporting internal communications, such as setting up staff briefings, creating newsletters, and SharePoint administration.
  • Proactively communicating ideas and contributing to creative brainstorms

We look forward to hearing from you.
