The National Composites Centre is at the forefront of the composites revolution. Our story has been one of continuously striving to be bigger and better and thinking outside of the box. As we reach the end of our first decade, we’re just getting started.

As part of The Catapult Network which brings together nine leading technology and innovation centres where new technologies are further developed, scaled up and realised the Catapult and Impact Lead will be responsible for working with a range of internal business functions and business units.

You will implement a robust Impact Framework which effectively demonstrates how the NCC creates ‘Industrial Impact’. Allowing the NCC to report on its Impact Commitments to HVMC and IUK.

You will work with the wider business to turn evidence-based data into KPIs and support tthe creation of messages, compelling impact stories and case studies, and then report these KPIs and messages to stakeholders to demonstrate impact of the NCC on the UK Economy, Society and Environment. 

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant experience of operating within an innovation, research and development environment
  • Ability to turn complex data into powerful compelling messages and stories
  • Ability to leverage and influence connections, build and maintain effective working relationships and drive forward initiatives

What will you do doing?

  • Accountable for timely Impact Reporting to HVMC and IUK in line with the contractual commitments
  • Work with the NCC Communications team in the creation of compelling messages, impact stories and case studies.
  • Identify Impact Measures where the NCC is either failing to meet the HVMC targets or where there are opportunities to excel against these targets and to work with the relevant teams to address any issues.
  • Work with the Core Catapult Grant Programme Manager on strategies for effectively reporting, demonstrating and communicating the innovation eco-system for measuring impact to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the NCC at internal and external meetings relating to Impact Measurement, to drive thought leadership in the area of impact measurement.
  • Work collaboratively with business functions to introduce strategies and processes for monitoring and reporting KPIs, outputs, outcomes and Impact, against the Impact framework.
