About The Role

Project Lead – Sustainability
£34,423 - £41,219 DOE & Benefits

At the National Composites Centre we’re building the future of Composites, so when industry wants to advance they come to us. And when they come to us, you're there to make things happen.

Now in our 11th year our growth isn't slowing - we're looking for an Engineering Project Manager to support an exciting and fast growing area in Sustainable Composites.

You’ll be a key figure in a dedicated Sustainability Programmes team, managing complex and innovative projects that look to ensure the future handling and use of composite materials and products is sustainable in all elements of the engineering lifecycle, across a range of sectors.

Composites are a key solution to reducing emissions from all industries but pose extremely difficult challenges to use in a sustainable manner due to their inherent nature. Working closely alongside academia, other RTOs, industry partners and internal engineering/sector teams, you’ll have the opportunity to influence and lead new projects aimed at overcoming these obstacles to achieve a circular economy. And with the NCC's commitment to staff development, who knows where this will take you?

So what are we looking for?

  • You're a proven leader of technical projects, with experience of using project management techniques and tools to deliver to time, cost and quality
  • Experience working with composites, polymers or advanced materials and/or within a sustainability context would be a big bonus, or equivalent experience within other engineering settings
  • You're a confident communicator, able to work closely with internal and external stakeholders building strong relationships to enable success

You’ll join a superb team that is growing and will allow your role to grow with it, enhancing your career, your team, and the status of the National Composites Centre in industry. We're on an upward trajectory at the moment, with plans to expand our sector reach and broaden the reach of composite technologies into a variety of sectors sustainably, making this a positive step forward for us, and for you.
