 The NCC is a centre for innovation in the manufacture of composite materials, and at the centre of this is a drive to ensure that composites are sustainable. The sustainability team focus is on developing technologies that reduce the environmental burden of current materials and manufacturing and developing technologies that ensure future sustainable materials and manufacturing.

 We are experiencing significant interest in our sustainability offering, with a heavy forecast of exciting projects and programmes which require engineers with understanding of, circular economy, materials and manufacturing, recycling and reuse of end-of-life composites, and LCA.

As a Research Engineer in sustainability at the NCC you will:
  • Support customers on a wide variety of projects which focus on sustainability across a range of industries
  • Support a range of research projects addressing composites end of life challenges, circular economy and material development
  • Provide support on Life cycle assessment for composite products
  • Contribute ‘sustainability’ to cross-functional activities across the NCC
We would like the candidate to have:
  • A background in composites materials and manufacturing, ideally with hands on experience in a composites manufacturing environment
  • Experience in sustainability, Circular economy and Life Cycle Assessment
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A team oriented attitude and passion for sustainability
